Wetterhouns are unique in the fact that they have beautiful curls, a spiral tail, and a broad shaped skull. They come in four shades; solid black, solid brown, brown and white, and black and white. They are considered large breed dogs, and can be anywhere from 50-75 pounds. They are classified with the FCI as a retriever. The wetterhoun is very perseverant in what it does. Wetterhouns make great family dogs, and it is uncommon for them to leave their owner’s sight. There are only about 1000 Wetterhouns worldwide, with the majority in the Netherlands.
